Lithium compounds used in lithium batteries have specific particle size distribution requirements, and the use of ultra-fine lithium powder can improve battery performance, including higher available capacity, longer service life, faster charging rate, higher efficiency, consistent discharge rate, and reduced size and weight.

Impact Mill Grinding Process

Material include: Lithium cobaltate (LCO), Li(OH), lithium manganate, lithium iron phosphate (LFP), ternary materials (NCM), lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), lithium nickel cobalt manganate (NCM), lithium nickel cobalt aluminate (NCA), cobalt oxide, lithium titanate, cobalt dioxide, Lithium cobalt oxide, etc.

The material is uniformly sent into the grinding chamber by the feeding system, and is strongly impacted by the high-speed rotating grinding disc. At the same time, it is subjected to the centrifugal force to collide with the crushing ring gear, and is subjected to various comprehensive forces such as shearing, friction, and collision.

The material is ground, and the crushed material moves to the classification area with the airflow. The coarse and fine materials are separated through the classification wheel adjusted by the frequency conversion. The products that meet the fineness requirements enter the cyclone collector and the dust collector with the airflow for collection, and the coarse particles return to the grinding area to continue shattered.

Fluidized Bed Jet Mill Grinding Process

Suitable materials include: lithium iron phosphate, single crystal ternary, small particle lithium cobalt oxide, lithium hydroxide, lithium carbonate, etc.

After the compressed air is filtered and dried, it is sprayed into the grinding chamber at high speed through the Laval nozzle. At the intersection of multiple high-pressure airflows, the materials are repeatedly collided, rubbed, and sheared to be crushed. The crushed materials rise with the suction of the fan. The airflow moves to the classification zone. Under the action of the strong centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotating classification turbine, the coarse and fine materials are separated.The fine particles that meet the particle size requirements enter the cyclone separator and dust collector through the classification wheel for collection, and the coarse particles descend to the crushing zone and continue to be crushed.

For Lithium Iron Phosphate ( LiFePO4 )

Inert Atmosphere Protection Grinding / Classifying System
